Heartwork clothing is the creative outlet for David Coxsell a visual artist who has been developing his craft for over thirty years. 

Having always had a natural talent with digital design and photo manipulation he focused his efforts in photography and obtained a 1st BA Honours Degree in Visual Communication at Birmingham City University in 2010. 

This led to him opening his own photography studio which he unfortunately was forced to close due to covid pandemic.


During the lockdown period David was unable to pursue his photography and used his skills as a digital artist as a channel for his creativity.


After years of trying to find a format that he liked, and was comfortable with the quality of items being produced, he launched Heartwork Clothing. The name of which was inspired by the band Carcass and their Heartwork titled track and its relation to giving all and putting heart and soul into the artwork.


Heartwork is also as much about the longevity of fashion as it is about the art. 

We want our designs to last and be loved for years to come - much like a beloved band t-shirt that can last for decades. Whilst also giving our customers an avenue to express themselves through a choice of designs that they can relate to directly, rather than a design related to a band or musician.

Art is as form of expression in whatever form, the visual aspect is what Heartwork turns toward.
