ClayBabies are small, hand-sculpted clay characters. Each ClayBaby is individually crafted and completely unique, with exaggerated features, uneven expressions, cracks, wounds or expressive eyes. They are intentionally strange, quirky and sometimes a little ugly — yet there is something about them that makes you want to protect and care for them.
ClayBabies explore themes of vulnerability, emotional resilience and self-acceptance. Just like these creatures, we all carry parts of ourselves that feel messy, bruised or unlovable. Through this each piece gently reflects aspects of mental health, anxiety, sensitivity, overthinking, softness, strength - and reframes them as something worthy of compassion and empathy.
Rather than hiding imperfection, ClayBabies celebrate it. They invite viewers to embrace the odd, the fragile and the flawed, reminding us that even the most unconventional parts of ourselves deserve love.
